About This Project
Awake Palmer Lake volunteers installed a staff gauge along the lake's shoreline near the pedestrian bridge — a permanent, graduated measuring rail set into the bank to give an at-a-glance read on Palmer Lake's water level.
Built using repurposed rail track anchored into the shoreline with rock and timber footings, the gauge lets volunteers, the town, and the community track water levels consistently over time — a small but essential piece of the lake's ongoing restoration effort.
Like all Awake Palmer Lake projects, it was built by volunteers, for the town, at no cost to taxpayers.
